MIETW Students’ Scholarly Participation at the National Conference

Students of MIET Women actively participated in a two-day National Conference on Innovation & Emerging Trends in Electronics organized by Priyadarshini College of Engineering, Nagpur on 17–18 March 2026, conducted in online mode. The conference featured a dedicated track on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), encouraging the exploration of India’s traditional wisdom through contemporary academic perspectives. Three teams from MIETW presented scholarly papers in this track, showcasing interdisciplinary understanding that bridges heritage knowledge with scientific inquiry.

Team 1, led by C. Srihitha, presented a paper on the Aranmula Kannadi (Aranmula Metal Mirror). The presentation highlighted the unique metallurgical composition, non-glass reflective surface, and the precision craftsmanship preserved through generations in Kerala. The team emphasized how this artifact exemplifies indigenous material science, optical principles, and sustainable traditional technology.

Team 2, led by N. Lahari, presented on “Cultural and Spiritual Dimensions of Pooja Practices in Daily Life.” This paper examined how daily pooja rituals integrate psychology, environmental awareness, discipline, and spiritual well-being. The presentation interpreted these practices through scientific reasoning, illustrating how traditional routines contribute to mental balance, social harmony, and holistic health.

Team 3, led by P. Abhisriya, presented an insightful paper titled “Gandhayukti: The Technical Alchemy and Scriptural Science of India,” based on principles from the Gandhayukti. The study explored ancient Indian knowledge of perfumes, aromatics, and medicinal fragrances, demonstrating their relevance to chemistry, Ayurveda, and modern perfumery science.

The participation of MIETW students in this national platform not only reflected their research orientation but also their commitment to reviving and reinterpreting Indian traditional knowledge through modern academic lenses. Their presentations were well received and appreciated by the session chairs and participants, marking a proud academic contribution from MIETW in the domain of Indian Knowledge Systems.
