CIKS organizes One Week FDP on Indian Knowledge Systems

The Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS) at Megha Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (MIETW) successfully organized a One Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Indian Knowledge Systems: Integrating Bharatiya Wisdom into Engineering Education, Research, and Innovation” from 8th June to 13th June 2026 at the MIETW Auditorium.

The FDP aimed to create awareness among faculty members about the richness of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and their relevance in engineering education, research, innovation, and sustainable development. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members across various departments.

The inaugural session was delivered by Mrs. Kavita Krishna Meegama, Director, University Relations (IKS), Brhat, on the topic “Ancient Wisdom for Modern Technological Challenges.” The subsequent sessions featured eminent academicians including Dr. Ayyagari Nageswara Rao, Dr. G. Suresh Babu, Dr. N. Vijaya Raghavi, Ms. C. Vanisree, and Mrs. Pritha Ghosh, who shared their expertise on diverse topics such as Indian sciences, engineering applications, arts, wellness traditions, and ancient chemistry.

Each session highlighted the importance of integrating Bharatiya wisdom into modern education and inspired participants to adopt interdisciplinary approaches in teaching and research. The programme offered valuable insights into the scientific, cultural, and philosophical foundations of ancient Indian knowledge.

The FDP was coordinated by Dr. B. Sai Venkata Krishna, Vice Principal & Head – Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, MIETW, under the guidance of Dr. P. Ramasubramanian, Principal, MIETW. The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from participants, marking an important step towards promoting holistic and value-based education through Indian Knowledge Systems.
